A vintage collection manufactured by Lauscha Glass in East Germany from the 1960s to 1970s.

This beautiful flower vase features vibrant yellow glass created through Lauscha blown glass, characterized by its sophisticated wine-glass-like design.

It is unique as an objet d'art, with a delicate appearance that is one-of-a-kind, possessing both fragility and strength.

＊Lauscha is a small glass town located in the Thuringian Forest in eastern Germany, where people have lived and worked making glass for over 400 years.

In East Germany, industries had their own unique system, with state-owned enterprises called VEB established in various regions, each with different industries.

This product is a thin, delicate glass vase made by a glassblower in Lauscha, Thuringia, a region known for its thriving glass industry, from the 1960s to the 1970s. Its streamlined, futuristic form hints at the Space Age design popular at the time.

Furthermore, although it cannot be definitively confirmed due to the absence of a stamp, based on its style, there is a possibility that it was made by the renowned glass artist Albin Schaedel or in his workshop.

Albin Schaedel

Schaedel is an innovative Thuringian glass artisan with an international reputation.

He comes from a family with a 200-year tradition of glassmaking; his father was a lampwork bead maker. He worked as a glass bead maker in his father's workshop, began his apprenticeship in 1924, and became a craftsman under Edmund Müller in Neuhaus from 1927.

In 1952, he passed his master's examination and was recognized by the glassblowing master and the examination committee of the Visual Artists Association.

Schaedel was a highly experimental glass artist. He refined and developed assembly techniques ("skull technique") in his art, such as designing vessels blown in front of a lamp. He was one of the most productive and influential glass artists of his time.
