A vintage collection manufactured by Lauscha Glass in East Germany from the 1960s to 1970s.

This flower vase is characterized by its sophisticated design, featuring beautiful vivid raspberry-colored glass created by Lauscha blown glass, and a classic appearance with gently curved, wavy, frilled mouth rims.

It is also a unique object, with a delicate and unparalleled appearance that possesses both fleetingness and strength.

*Lauscha is a small glass town in the Thuringian Forest in eastern Germany, where people have lived and made glass for over 400 years.

In East Germany, industry had its own unique system, with state-owned enterprises called VEB established in various regions, and different industries in each region.

This product is a thin and delicate glass vase made by blown glass artisans in Lauscha, Thuringia, a region where the glass industry flourished, from the 1960s to the 1970s. Its streamlined, futuristic form offers a glimpse into the space-age design popular at the time.

Also, although it cannot be definitively stated due to the lack of an engraving, based on its style, there is a possibility that it was made by the renowned glass artist Albin Schaedel or in his workshop.

Albin Schaedel

Schaedel was an innovative Thuringian glass artist with an international reputation.

He came from a family with 200 years of glass-making tradition, and his father was a beadmaker. He worked as a glass beadmaker in his father's workshop, began his apprenticeship in 1924, and became a craftsman under Edmund Müller in Neuhaus from 1927.

In 1952, he passed his master's examination and was recognized by the glass blowing master and visual artists' association's examination board.

Schaedel was a highly experimental glass artist. He refined and developed assembly techniques ("skull technique") into art, such as the design of vessels blown in front of a lamp. He was one of the most productive and influential glass artists of his time.
