This Fat Lava vase, of unknown origin, was made in West Germany in the 1960s-1970s.
It is a highly sculptural piece, characterized by its ivory-based glaze and striking swirling black glaze decoration.

The form, with its rounded body rising to a slender neck and rustic handle, embodies the craftsmanship and experimental design characteristic of West German pottery of that era. The thick glaze is partially raised, creating a three-dimensional, powerful texture like lava.

Despite the clear contrast between white and black, the remaining earthy texture gives it a certain warmth. It can be used to display flowers or as a standalone object, adding an accent to any space. It pairs well with a wide range of interiors, including mid-century, vintage, and industrial styles.

Although the manufacturer's mark cannot be confirmed, this is an atmospheric vintage piece that clearly showcases the charm of the Fat Lava style, emblematic of West German pottery culture from the 1960s to 1970s.

Although it is a good vintage item with no cracks, chips, etc., as it is a vintage item from the 1960s-1970s, there may be some age-related scuffs, small scratches, and glaze irregularities. Please purchase with an understanding of its character.

※Please note that vintage items are antiques, so please purchase with the understanding that they are used. Also, due to the porous nature of ceramic material, there is a possibility of water leakage due to deterioration over time. We recommend using it for decorative purposes.

※We try our best to make product photos as close to the actual colors as possible, but please understand that the actual product colors may differ.
