This Fat Lava vase, made in West Germany between the 1960s and 1970s by an unknown kiln, features a deep black glaze with flowing white-grey glaze overlapping it, creating a beautiful contrast.
It is a piece that shows a beautiful contrast of expressions.

The form, which gently widens from the rounded body to the mouth, gives a stable yet soft impression. The rim of the mouth has accumulated glaze, creating dripping lines, and the body has horizontal bands of glaze. The lava-like glaze and lustrous texture enhance the unique presence characteristic of Fat Lava.

While decorative, the overall tone is subdued, allowing it to enhance the colors of flowers when arranged and adding a quiet accent to the space as an art object. This vase pairs well with mid-century, vintage modern, and industrial interiors.

Although the manufacturer's mark cannot be confirmed, this atmospheric vintage ceramic vase fully embodies the charm of the Fat Lava style, symbolizing West German pottery culture from the 1960s to 1970s.

This is a good vintage item with no cracks, chips, or other damage, but please understand that as a vintage item from the 1960s-1970s, it may show signs of age such as scratches, small flaws, and glaze unevenness. Please purchase with the understanding of its unique character.

*As vintage items are from a bygone era, please understand that they are pre-owned before making a purchase. Additionally, due to the nature of ceramic material having small pores, there is a possibility of water leakage due to deterioration over time. We recommend using it for display purposes.

*We strive to photograph products to be as close to the actual color as possible, but please understand that the actual product may differ in color from the photographs.
