ANE022 Stoff Nagel / 3 Candle Stand / BMF / Germany / 1971–1985

Designed by German designer Hans Nagel in the 1960s, this modular candle stand began production at Werner Stoff's workshop and was later manufactured and sold by BMF from 1971 to 1985.

It features a composition of three candle holders extending in different directions and a central pivot point. While maintaining a beautiful balance as a single unit, multiple stands can be stacked to create a three-dimensional sculpture. When linked together, as shown in the image, a rhythmic, repeating structure is formed, giving it a strong sculptural presence.

The form, composed of smooth curves, and the luster of the chrome plating catch the light, creating delicate shadows and displaying different expressions depending on the angle. It is a simple yet accentuating product that symbolizes 1960s-70s modern design.
