Wilhelm Wagenfeld (1900–1990) was a leading German industrial designer of the 20th century.
Studying at Bauhaus, he created numerous functional and beautiful designs, stripped of ornamentation, based on the principle of "the unity of art and technology."

From 1935, he served as the artistic director for Vereinigte Lausitzer Glaswerke (VLG), where he produced masterpieces such as the "Herzvasen" (heart-shaped vases), which reinterpreted classical vase forms. The delicate curvilinear beauty of his glass works symbolizes the fusion of craftsmanship and modern design.

After the war, as art director for WMF, he created numerous industrial products with sculptural beauty, such as tourmaline blue glass vases and stainless steel tableware. His works, such as the Jena Glass heat-resistant glass tea sets, which pursued functionality and transparency, are also highly acclaimed.
