All handmade penguin made from recycled fabric
Each piece by yuyainagawa is made from recycled fabric, sewn stitch by stitch with an outstitch technique. These works possess a three-dimensional quality not found in mass-produced stuffed animals, and the warmth unique to handmade items.
As each piece is entirely handmade by the artist, it can take 3 to 6 months to complete, and some longer pieces may take over a year.

About the Artist
Yuyainagawa began creating after encountering the works of French stuffed animal artist Anne-Valerie Dupond.
All works are handmade, with each expression carefully considered. Stories of materials and people are woven into form with a single thread. The concept is not a one-way communication from maker to recipient, but rather to create works that allow both sides to engage in dialogue through the piece, while imbuing it with thoughts about the work, the materials, and that particular moment.
