A Fat Lava vase from West Germany, produced in the 1960s-1970s, of unknown origin.
This piece is striking for its thick, volcanic-like glaze and the powerful gradient from deep brown to black.
The rounded body is adorned with bold relief decoration, highlighting the organic texture created by the accumulation, flow, and solidification of the glaze. The rim decoration and the simple, substantial handle also exude the craftsmanship and powerful presence characteristic of West German pottery.
With its weighty presence, typical of Fat Lava, it stands out as a centerpiece even without flowers. It complements mid-century, vintage, and industrial interiors well, making it a recommended collector's item.
Although there is no manufacturer's mark, it is a unique piece that fully showcases the experimental and free-spirited aesthetic of West German pottery from that era.
This vintage item is in good condition with no cracks, chips, or breaks. However, as it is a vintage item from the 1960s-1970s, there may be some signs of age such as minor wear, scratches, and uneven glaze. Please understand this as part of its character before purchasing.
*Please understand that vintage items are historical and therefore pre-owned. Also, due to the nature of ceramics, there are small pores, which may cause water leakage over time. We recommend using it for display purposes only.
*While we strive to photograph products to be as close to the actual color as possible, please understand that the color may differ slightly from the actual product.
