Yuyainagawa's works are made from recycled fabric, sewn with outstitching stitch by stitch. They have a three-dimensional feel not found in mass-produced stuffed animals and the warmth of handmade craftsmanship.
As each piece is made by the artist's own hand, it can take 3 to 6 months, or even over a year, to complete.

About the artist
yuyainagawa started creating after encountering the works of French stuffed animal artist Anne-Valerie Dupond.
All works are handmade, with care taken to preserve each one's unique expression. The stories of materials and people are woven together with a single thread, giving them form. The concept is to create works that allow both the maker and the recipient to engage in a dialogue, rather than being a one-way expression from the maker, while still imbuing the works with feelings for the piece, the materials, and the moment.

Each owl by Yuyainagawa is created from recycled fabric, stitched entirely by hand with an outstitching technique. The result is a unique three-dimensional form and warmth that cannot be found in mass-produced dolls.
