The Lion was first developed in the 1960s in our trademark Mahogany Brown. To see a photo of the original lion, visit the "Owners Club" and select the "Old Friends circa 1965" submenu. In 1974, an Arabian prince ordered a golden lion. Works were made in this color until the 2000s, but are no longer available. Our leather lions are striking pieces where the leather mane is hand-dyed, cut, and stripped before being attached to the body of the leather. This size is a little tall to be used as a footstool, but can occasionally be used as a chair.
The trademark Mahogany Brown LION was created in the 1960s. Photos of the original LION can be viewed by selecting "OLD FRIENDS CIRCA 1965" from the "OWNERS CLUB" on our website. Mahogany Brown was produced until the 1980s, but is no longer made today.

All our products are exclusively designed by Omersa and Company and manufactured to order in two workshops in Lincolnshire, England. We have a small team of artisans who are trained on-site in the craft of making leather animals.

Note
The leather used in OMERSA products is considered to have natural wrinkles and scratches as part of its unique character, and therefore the surface is not coated with acrylic, but finished to allow its natural appearance to show through. As a result, wrinkles and scratches may be present in the products. Also, as it is very susceptible to moisture, please wipe it lightly with a dry cloth or similar if water or moisture gets on it.
