A leather animal series produced in the 1960s by DERU, a German workshop that existed from 1950 to the early 1970s.
The workshop manufactured leather toys for educational purposes and supplied them to schools in Germany in the 1950s, but in the 1960s, they began producing these intricately structured animals.
The "DERU" animals, crafted from a single piece of undyed leather using excellent cutting, bending, pressing, and riveting techniques, became collectible items with collectors worldwide, affectionately known as "German ORIGAMI," after their appeal was re-evaluated years after the workshop ceased to exist.
Height 38cm / Length 19cm / Width 8cm
