First sold in 1927, Omersa's leather pigs continue to be carried by Libety's, a well-established department store, to this day. And Omersa's animals have been loved by people since childhood and passed down as family heirlooms. Recently, some of the old products have been auctioned at house auctions in the United Kingdom and the United States and have become known as collectors' items.

Each of Omersa's animals is handcrafted in England from specially made natural cowhide. The animal is made with a wooden frame and sturdy steel, and compressed wood hair is stuffed by hand around the frame to form the animal. Because the entire production process is done by hand, no two Omarsa animals are exactly alike. Each animal is unique, charming and individual. The leather is hand waxed and polished to a luxurious and rich antique brown.
