CEO Marco Gobbetti has quit BURBERRY after almost five years.

BurberryのCEOを務めるMarco Gobbettiが5年間勤めた職務をやめ、Salvatore FerragamoのCEOに新たに就任することになった。

今回の退任の理由は、イタリアの家族と共に過ごしたいとのことで、Burberryの会長Gerald Murphyは、「我々は、この件について残念に感じているが、彼のイタリアに帰りたいという気持ちを尊重する。私たちは、Burberryの強固な基盤をもとに成長を加速させ、株主の皆様に更なる価値を提供してまいります」と語った。

Main reason is he wants to be closer to his family in Italy.

The luxury Italian group Salvatore Ferragamo announced on Monday it had appointed Gobbetti as its new CEO.

The Burberry chairman, Gerry Murphy said “The board and I are naturally disappointed by Marco’s decision, but we understand and fully respect his desire to return to Italy after nearly 20 years abroad.With the execution of our strategy on track and our outlook unchanged, we are determined to build on BURBERRY’s strong foundations to accelerate growth and deliver further value for our shareholders.”
