デザインギャラリーLICHTで、Comme des garconsの創設者である川久保玲氏がデザインした椅子が展示される。同エキシビションでは、川久保氏が家具のデザインを手掛けていた1983年から1993年までの約10年間の中で制作されたものの中から、ブリキを使用したシリーズの3脚を厳選、一部の椅子は販売も予定しているとのこと。
川久保氏が家具のデザインを始めたきっかけは、ブランド創設のきっかけと同様に自身のブティックに設置する最適なものが見つからなかったから。川久保氏は、約10年の間に、40個ほどの家具を発表、今では入手困難なアーカイブとなっている。
エキシビションは、5月29日から6月6日までデザインギャラリーLICHTにて開催。興味がある方はぜひ足を運んで頂きたい。
The exhibition of Rei Kawakubo designed chair starting from May 29th.
This exhibition features Rei Kawakubo designed three tin plate chairs from 1983 to 1993. Some of chairs are expected to be sell.
Kawakubo started designing furniture because she couldn't find the best one to install in his boutique. She designed chairs and tables as an extension of the boutique space design. Over the next decade, she released about 40 pieces of furniture.
