Toray Industries, Inc. has developed new nylon 510 fiber whose raw material polymer is entirely plant-derived.

東レは、原料のポリマーをすべて植物由来にしたナイロン510繊維を新たに開発し事業化をスタート。スポーツ・アウトドア用途向けを中心に、薄地織物からカットソー素材、インナーレース・資材用途までアイテムを幅広く揃えている。

今回開発した「エコディア® N510」は、植物由来のセバシン酸とペンタメチレンジアミンを重合・紡糸してつくる、100％植物由来のナイロン繊維です。
実用的な100％植物由来ナイロンとして他の100％植物由来ナイロンにはない特徴があり、融点が高く、また、優れた寸法安定性を有しています。

The fiber can be developed into thin fabrics, cut-and-sewn materials and inner lace, mainly for sports and outdoor clothes.

ECODEAR® N510 is a 100% plant-derived nylon fiber made by polymerizing and spinning plant-derived sebacic acid  and pentamethylenediamine.It has characteristics not found in other 100% plant-derived nylons, including a high melting point and excellent dimensional stability.
