GUCCI released new sneakers made of animal-free material "Demetera"
GUCCIが、サステナブルな新素材Demetraを用いたシューズ3型を発売。
同素材は、2年間にわたる研究開発によって生み出された新しい素材。環境に負荷を与えない製造プロセスと、再生可能なバイオベースの原料によって製造されている。高級レザーのなめし加工を行い優れた弾力性や耐久性を持っている。
スニーカーは、ハイカット1型とローカット2型を展開。Demetra以外にもオーガニックコットン、リサイクルスチール、リサイクルポリエステルを採用してる。
同素材は、現在GUCCIしか使用していないが、今後は、Kering傘下の他のブランドでも使用していくようだ。
GUCCI released new sneakers made of animal-free material "Demetera". This new material of two years of research and development, which is made up of more than 77 percent plant-based raw materials.
It is made of a compound of viscose and wood pulp as well as bio-based polyurethane .
The material is produced at brand’s factories in Italy and uses the same tanning processes as leather to ensure its soft and durable.
Kering will make it available to use this material to other Kering brands starting next year.
